I wanted to show my opinion further with a specific design to show the meaning of the image and how it may help me develop ideas.

This design was made for an American series called "Mad Men", which is set in the 1960s, initially at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, and later at the newly created firm, Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce (later Sterling Cooper & Partners), located nearby in the Time-Life Building, at 1271 Sixth Avenue. This poster was made for the final season back in 2015.

I think he has used a variety amount of colours to create something so powerful, but pleasing to the eye. If you think about it, the silhouette on the left hand side smoking the cigarette is relatable to the 1960s as cigarettes were the norm for adults in that era. It was supposedly popular and "perfectly fine" for your body, which was proven to a later date that it can cause cancer. The rest of the image show a collage of what could be going on in the series. Starting with the Empire State at the bottom right of the design, which is relatable as it is set in New York and then if you carry on looking at the image, there is a bottle of wine being poured into a glass, which could indicate a lot of drinking. However, with the lady, which is close to the silhouette, it could mean many thinking from women wanting to take over the male role in jobs or seduction between a man and a woman or the same gender.

To be honest think design is very eye catching for the audience. It makes you wonder what it is and then makes you want to watch it. Milton Glaser is a inspiring graphic designer because he will use various primary images and illustrate them to look unique and interesting. I find his work very pleasing and relaxing even though it has vibrant colours, but again I think the work shows dedication with in every piece he creates.
