Examples of Slogans

Apple

Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. The company's hardware products include the iPhone smartphone, the iPad tablet computer, the Mac personal computer, the iPod portable media player, the Apple Watch smartwatch, the Apple TV digital media player, and the HomePod smart speaker.

"Think different." was an advertising slogan for Apple in1997. The slogan has been widely taken as a response to IBM's slogan "Think" and It was used in a television commercial, several print advertisements, and a number of TV promos for Apple products. Apple's use of the slogan was discontinued in 2002 but it is still known today. I think it means have a different perspective on techniques technology and something different than just the ordinary.

Shepard Fairey

Frank Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary street artistgraphic designeractivist and illustrator. The Barack Obama "Hope" poster is an image of Barack Obama designed by Shepard Fairey, which was widely described as iconic and came to represent his 2008 presidential campaign. It consists of a stylized stencil portrait of Obama in solid red, beige and light and dark blue, with the word "progress", "hope" or "change" below.

In November 2011, Shepard Fairey introduced a variation of his "Hope" poster. In the new poster, he featured a Guy Fawkes mask, and the message "Mister President, we HOPE you're on our side", with the word "HOPE" in large font and the rest of the sentence in small font. The Obama campaign logo on the right was replaced by a similar logo with the inscription "We are the 99%".

Seb Leister

Seb Lester is an English artist, type designer and calligrapher. He is notable for prominent type designs and calligraphic prints and is also known for his videos of hand drawn calligraphy, often of famous brands, published on social media.

The pen is mightier than the sword" is a figure of speech from English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839, which indicates that communication, particularly written language, or in some interpretations, administrative power or advocacy of an independent press, is a more effective tool than direct violence.

I think Seb Lester designed this typography because it's a strong message and he emphasises it by designing something simple but unique at the same time, which makes the message stronger and reminds people what it means.
